Regional Sales Representative (RSR)

Due to our continued growth, Vantage Learning is actively seeking an experienced Outside Sales professional to join our team as a Regional Sales Representative to drive sales activity in the Southern California region by presenting our solutions to K-12 educational clientele as our local “HUNTER / CLOSER" while being based out of the Philadelphia area.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be accountable for identifying and developing new business opportunities, as well as servicing existing customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability as an independent self-starter who is able to thrive with minimal supervision

  • Maintain strong cross-functional collaboration skills with peers and colleagues to implement a market development plan for the designated territory

  • Action-orientated results-driven approach – complemented by an engaging, professional presence.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Vantage consultative and strategic selling process.

  • Clearly articulate the company’s values and identify pain points for customers and prospects to provide to provide the proper solution.

  • Ability to listen to client’s needs / goals and match an appropriate Vantage offering.

  • Staying well informed about current industry trends and being able to talk intelligently about the education field in the K-12 market.

  • Drive the full sales life-cycle [including prospecting, lead generation, contact, presentation, relationship building, negotiating, proposal writing, closing and account management].

  • Ability to close sales in complex, long sales cycles.

  • Create and execute an effective sales plan focusing on new business.

  • Set face to face meetings with business leaders and key decision makers.

  • Making prospecting part of the regular routine, ensuring that prospects are being added to the pipeline on a constant basis.

  • Develop, maintain, and grow ongoing sales pipeline.

  • Action-oriented approach with demonstrated history of achieving/exceeding sales quotas.

  • Effectively use the CRM automation tool to enter all sales information into the system.

  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows.

  • The ability to take on additional responsibilities and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.

  • 3+ years of full-cycle Outside Software Sales experience.

  • A proven track record of consistently achieving large sales quotas selling into the K-12 Education market is highly desirable

  • Expertise working with Higher Education, Government, Corporate, and/or Certification clientele may also be considered.
  • Formal understanding of and experience with solution / consultative selling is required.

  • Familiarity with sales and purchasing cycles as they relate to school district, Title 1, and other federal funding guidelines will present a strong advantage. 

  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, with proven telephone and customer-facing expertise.

  • Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, change-driven environment with an assertive “HUNTER / CLOSER" approach.

  • A strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM products.

  • The ability to travel as required with reliable transportation (to maximize business opportunities).

Product Support Representative

Due to continued growth, we are looking to expand our customer support team.  Our Product Support Representatives are expected to assist end-users of our educational web-based Software as a Service [SaaS] applications over the telephone.  Typical duties include:  troubleshooting technical issues; generating interest in our products & services; finalizing customer orders; and providing on-going technical & customer support as needed.

We are looking for bright, outgoing, and motivated individuals with a “can-do” attitude – our ideal candidates are effective communicators who possess both technical aptitude and leadership potential to move into advanced positions within our organization in the future.  We are looking for candidates who can use this short-term experience to learn about our organization and build a successful career within our company in the long-term.  The goal with this opening is to provide ample training to learn about our products, and then advance into a sales role within our company.

Responsibilities:

  •  Engage in detailed conversation with customers to understand their needs and offer solutions.

  • Quickly learn the various web-based software applications that we offer & utilize.

  • Being self-motivated, with the ability to set & achieve self-imposed goals / objectives with minimal direction or supervision.

  • Utilize superior telephone & listening skills to build and manage a pipeline of opportunities through up-selling existing & new clients.

  •  Unafraid to tackle incoming client calls/e-mails related to application questions, application use, technical issues, and/or product and service orders.

  •  Work with end user technical staff to trouble shoot technical issues related to browser configuration, proxies, routing, and/or other network issues.

  •  Work with various Vantage departments to ensure customer needs are met or exceeded.

  •  Assist in the Quality Assurance [QA] efforts of new products and services.

  •  Perform related customer service duties, as needed.

  • Willing to work nights and Saturdays, as needed.

  • Miscellaneous duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  •   Customer-facing, customer-service, and/or sales experience is heavily preferred (college graduates are encouraged to apply – academic achievements will be considered in lieu of experience).

  •   Experience in a similar role [with Internet Technology [IT] and/or Software Helpdesk Support] is a plus.

  •   Ability to maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor at all times is required – you will be expected to speak with people in an engaging manner.

  •   Sales-oriented attitude, with the business acumen to observe additional business development potential and the willingness to move into a full-time sales role in the future, is heavily preferred.

  •   Technical training related to software, network services and/or online applications.

  •   Strong working knowledge of the Internet, web-based applications, and MS-Office software tools.

  •   Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to effectively converse & interact with the sales team to offer insight, solutions, and resolve issues.

  •   Excellent listening, time management and organizational skills.

  •   Initiative to grow and learn sales functions within the organization.

  •   Associate Degree (or higher) is strongly preferred.

Castilian Spanish Product Support Representative ("PSR")

To provide the principal operational connection between the customer and internal Vantage support personnel, including provisioning engineering, premise support engineers, carrier services, and Partner support teams.  The PSR is responsible for generating, tracking, and closing (under some conditions) customer requested work orders.  Plus, the PSR must ensure internal recognition, assignment, and closure of customer-generated work orders (via a web-based ticketing system).   This process includes taking customer calls, analyzing those calls and assigning them to the proper Vantage personnel (and in some cases to the appropriate Vantage premise support Partner) for completing the request.  Upon work completion, the PSR is responsible for customer follow-up via telephone and/or e-mail to ensure customer acknowledgement and satisfaction with the work performed.  The Product Support Representative is required to communicate in both English and Castilian Spanish.  This position will report into our Yardley, PA office.

The Product Support Representative will also be responsible for personally performing the tasks necessary to resolve or complete customer issues, such as password resets, feature/functionality setting adjustments, and “how to” answers, serving as the company’s help desk.

This position currently reports to the Product Support Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the resolution of customer requests, complaints and emergency situations, determining when to publicize customer issues/concerns per the company’s Escalation Policy
  • Provides ongoing communication to the customer with regard to status and actions of any work requested by the customer
  • Inputs work orders into the ticketing & billing system, and assigns tickets to the appropriate Vantage team member/group, or Partner field services organization
  • Communicates with Partner field service organizations regarding the status of all orders being worked by the outside support team(s)
  • Determines and internally publicizes the urgency needed for customer satisfaction and timely completion of order
  • Documents all account activity and assists with proper billing input
  • Keeps management informed of large, unusual or pressing jobs
  • Ensures customer satisfaction
  • Maintains customer focus
  • Resolves outstanding issues
  • Promotes executive awareness
  • Miscellaneous duties, as assigned

Recommended Experience:

  • 2 or more years of direct customer interaction experience preferred
  • 1 year experience in providing helpdesk support activities for phone users, including but limited to; feature/functionality activation and voice mail
  • 1 year experience in providing helpdesk support activities for desktop (PC and application) services and software
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral (particularly via telephone)
  • **Must be fluent in Castilian Spanish and English**
  • Familiarity with ‘data’ network services; ISP, DSL, T-1, LAN equipment (router, switches, firewall)
  • PC application proficiency in “MS Office”, and other basics
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
